Vikings Training Camp Comments
August 3rd, 2009 | by Brandon Peterson |Vikings training camp has started and football season finally feels like it is just around the corner. I personally am overcome with excitement. This Vikings team has a chance to do something special…if they only had a Quarterback.
Tarvaris Jackson, or T-Jack as I like to call him, went down over the weekend with an MCL sprain. Wow, T-Jack’s hurt in training camp…I never saw that coming? He’s only been hurt at some point in the season or training camp every year since he’s been in the NFL. From what I hear, he was looking very confident and throwing well before he was injured. The Vikings and Brad Childress are saying he’s day-to-day and will be practicing by the end of the week with a brace on his knee.

When I first heard that T-Jack was hurt, the first thought in my head was “Oh, here’s an excuse to go back on the comment about being done with Number Four.” What perfect timing as well since Favre could come in right in the nick of time to miss the majority of training camp. I hope the team sticks to their convictions about being done with the old White Horse, but I’d say anything’s possible at this point.
On a good note, Percy Harvin is finally signed and at practice. No flu or dizziness yet, but I will post when I hear any news of that sort. The terms of the deal haven’t been disclosed yet, except that it’s a 5 year deal. It’s probably incentive-laden with some decent guaranteed money considering how versatile he is.
